Computational domain

This section explains the preparation of surfaces to create the domain. This is done with the operations splitting, combining and renaming of the surfaces.

Cyclone Surfaces
  1. Select Split/Combine Geometry or Grid in the Mesh Panel.
  2. Select CAD Surfaces Cyclone in the Geometric Entities Panel.
  3. Select Split by Angle from the Operation drop-down list in the Properties Panel.
  4. Enter 75 deg for Angle, click Split by Angle. Fourteen new CAD Surfaces are created in the Geometric Entities Panel.
  5. Rename the CAD Surfaces Cyclone_12, Cyclone_10 and Cyclone_05 as Cyclone_inlet, Cyclone_outlet and Cyclone_bottom_wall respectively .
  6. Select the CAD Surfaces Cyclone_02, Cyclone_07, Cyclone_09 and Cyclone_14.
  7. Select Combine from the Operation drop-down list in the Properties Panel and click Combine.
  8. Rename the combined CAD Surfaces as Cyclone_bin_walls in the Geometric Entities Panel.
  9. Select the remaining CAD Surfaces and select Combine from the Operation drop-down list in the Properties Panel.
  10. Click Combine and rename the combined CAD Surfaces as Cyclone_walls.
